The Vision of ROOTS International
To introduce African-American Youth to our ancient history using our "Ancient Ethiopian Museum Exhibit, featuring special guest "Prince Ermias Sahle Selassie" grandson of Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia that included a special documentary on the ancient history of Ethiopia and the Ethiopian Genocide of 1935-1941. Chicago State University also hossted our "Day the Angels Cried Traveling Museum Exhibit which was used to promote the special Dusable Museum Event.
Funding was provided by the Historic DuSable Museum, Ethiopian Diamond Restaurant, Wile Hare Restaurant and Entertainment Center, WVON Radio Ethiopian Community Association of Chicago and the Chicago Defender Newspaper. This historical event drew the attention of people from various states, and especially Black Youth in Chicago who were amazed, and exclaimed they never knew this history. From 2019 - 2020, our Traveling Museum Exhibit toured New York, Washington, DC and Miami, Florida, however, Covid-19 halted everything as we were not confortablel with hosting large events at that time.
However, our plans to "reinvent our selfs" in 2024 is to present two historical events, one educational and the other performing cultural arts, as was done successfully from 1987-1998 with support of the City of Chicago Department of Special Events, Chicago Park District, The Illinois Arts Council, and a host of neighborhood businesses and the public.

We were once Religious Representatives for the US Burea of Prison in five states, and learned it is not only a lack of education, oportunities, emploment, but traumatic stress from rom generational stress, which has gone ignored for years. We ask aoursleves the question, "Why are five-million black men and youth in US Prisons and House of Corrections? It is because
